How is photoshoot makeup different from everyday makeup?
A camera flattens texture and exaggerates shine, so the base is chosen for how it behaves under flash and continuous light, contour and blush are placed to hold their shape on camera, and highly reflective products are avoided where they would blow out.

Makeup designed around the lighting you are shooting in
Flash, window light and continuous studio light each treat the face differently. A base that looks perfect in a bathroom mirror can read grey or chalky under a strobe, and a glow that photographs beautifully by a window can turn into hotspots in a studio. The products are chosen once the lighting setup is known.
If you are shooting black and white, in strong colour, or against a particular backdrop, that changes the depth of the definition and the warmth of the skin. Share the mood board or reference images with your inquiry and the makeup is planned against them.

Portrait, branding and personal photography
Personal branding and portrait sessions are usually about looking unmistakably like yourself on a good day. What to bring and how to prepare
Arrive with clean, hydrated skin and hair styled or ready to be styled. Bring the outfits you plan to shoot in so the makeup can be balanced against their colour, and bring any glasses you want in the photographs so reflection and matte skin can be considered together.
If a photographer, stylist or creative director is directing the shoot, Haleh works to their direction and keeps continuity across the full session.

How much does photoshoot makeup cost in Vancouver?
Sessions are quoted individually based on the date, location, number of people and whether on-set attendance is needed for touch-ups. Send those details and you will receive the options that apply.
How long before the shoot should makeup start?
Allow a dedicated block before the call time, plus extra time if hair is being styled or more than one person needs makeup. The schedule is set backwards from the time the camera starts.
Do you travel to photography studios?
